Rosemary

  Rosemary

Latin name ; Rosmarinus officinalis.

Rosemary is a clean, sharpy essential oil with a herby, minty & slightly woody under tone as characteristic of the fresh herb and is steam distilled from the flowering tips of the herb.

Rosemary is a member of the Lamiaceae family, it is a bushy shrub growing up to two metres in height, with long, silvery green needle shaped leaves. Small blue to mauve flowers appear in spring and summer. Rosemary is native to the Mediterranean region and is cultivated world wide.

As Rosemary is one of the most stimulating essential oils it is a perfect 'pick me up'. It aids memory & clear thinking so is a fantastic choice of oil for using in periods of learning / study, using in the shower / bath in the morning to invigorate the body & mind and to protect the psyche. Vaporising Rosemary is also excellent for combatting fatigue, clearing a stuffy atmosphere and aiding in killing air born bacteria. Rosemary is a popular oil used by aromasus while providing Indian head massage as it's stimulating actions will help strengthen hair growth and condition the scalp as well as the aforementioned benefits. It is also used within aromasus blends for invigorating massage and muscle blends proving very popular with active sports clients.
